काल की Series में आज हम Present Tense का दूसरा भाग Present Continuous Tense लेकर आये हैं | Types Of Tenses और Present Indefinite Tense हम पहली पोस्ट में समझा चुके हैं | 

Present Continuous Tense को हिंदी में वर्तमान अपूर्ण काल या वर्तमान निरंतर काल भी कहा जाता है | इस काल में कार्य बिना रुके चलता रहता है या यूँ कहे की निरंतर चलता रहता है | 

चलिए तो English Grammar के Tense के टॉपिक को और विस्तार से जानते हैं |

वर्तमान निरंतर काल (Present Continuous Tense)

क्रिया के जिस रूप से किसी अस्थाई कार्य के वर्तमान में निरंतर चलते रहने का बोध हो उसे Present Continuous Tense या वर्तमान निरंतर काल कहते हैं | इस काल में कार्य का चलते रहना अल्पकालिक या कुछ समय के लिए होता है | 

An action with progress in present tense in a temporary nature is known as Present Continuous Tense.

उदाहरण (Example)

1. जगत गाना गा रहा है | (Jagat is singing a song.)
2. मेरी माँ खाना बना रही हैं | (My mother is cooking.)
3. धोबी कपड़े धो रहा है | (The washerman is washing clothes.)
4. वह बच्चा खेल रहा है | (That child is playing)
5. सड़क पर बस चल रही है | (Bus is running on the road.)

यह भविष्य की कार्रवाई या निकट भविष्य में एक निश्चित व्यवस्था को भी व्यक्त करता है |

It also expresses a future action or a definite arrangement in the near future.

उदाहरण (Example)

1. मैं कल चिड़ियाघर देखने जा रही हूँ | (I am going to the zoo tomorrow.)
2. वह अगले महीने घर आ रही है | (She is coming home next month.)
3. इस सप्ताह मेरा स्कूल टूर पर जा रहा है | (This week my school is going on tour.)
4. अगले महीने मेरी नई नौकरी शुरू हो रही है | (My new job is starting next month.)
5. कल रिया का जन्मदिन है | (Tomorrow is Riya's birthday.)

जैसा कि उपरोक्त वाक्यों में आप देख सकते हैं कि भविष्य में होने वाला कार्य वर्तमान में कहा जा रहा है इसलिए यहाँ Present Continuous Tense होगा | 

पहचान (Identification)

जिन वाक्यों के अंत में रहा है, रही है, रहे हैं, शब्दों का प्रयोग होता है वे वाक्य Present Continuous Tense में होते हैं | 

मुख्य क्रिया (Main Verb)

मुख्य क्रिया वह क्रिया होती है जो वाक्य के मुख्य अर्थ को बताती है | जैसे खाना (eat), रोना (cry), पीना (drink), सोना (sleep), चलना (walk), गाना (sing), पढ़ना (read), लिखना (write) आदि | 

Present Continuous Tense में ing के साथ Verb की I form का प्रयोग होता है | 

मुख्य क्रिया में 'ing' का प्रयोग (Uses Of 'ing' In Main Verb)

• जब Verb का Last Letter 'e' हो तो 'e' के स्थान पर ing लगाते हैं -

live	live + ing	living
rise	rise + ing	rising
leave	leave + ing	leaving
wake	wake + ing	waking
drive	drive + ing	driving
use	use + ing	using
ice	ice + ing	icing

• जब Verb के Last में 'ie' हो तो 'ie' के स्थान पर 'y' लगाकर ing जोड़ते हैं -

vie	vie + ing	vying
untie	untie + ing	untying
overlie	overlie + ing	overlying

• जब Verb के Last में 'ee' हो तो 'ee' के साथ ing जोड़ते हैं -

flee	flee + ing	fleeing
oversee	oversee + ing	overseeing
foresee	foresee + ing	foreseeing

• जब Verb के Last में व्यंजन (Consonant) हो और उसके पहले स्वर (Vowel) आये तो Last Letter को Double करके उसमे 'ing' जोड़ते हैं -

drop	drop + ing	dropping
tap	tap + ing	tapping
travel	travel + ing	travelling
label	label + ing	labelling

सहायक क्रिया का प्रयोग (Use Of Helping Verb)

 

Present Continuous Tense में  Main Verb के साथ Helping Verb is, am, are का प्रयोग होता है | I के साथ am, Singular के साथ is का और Plural के साथ are का Use होता है |

उदाहरण (Example)

1. I am writing a letter. (मैं एक पत्र लिख रहा हूँ।)
2. She is doing her homework. (वह अपना गृहकार्य कर रही है।)
3. We are talking about historic events. (हम ऐतिहासिक घटनाओं की बात कर रहे हैं।)
4. Karan is going to his office. (करण अपने ऑफिस जा रहा है।)
5. They are laughing at poor. (वे गरीबों पर हंस रहे हैं।)
6. I am dancing for my college tomorrow. (मैं कल अपने कॉलेज के लिए डांस कर रही हूं।)
7. It is raining outside. (बाहर वर्षा हो रही है।)
8. These mangoes are ripping rapidly. (ये आम तेजी से ख़राब हो रहे हैं।)
9. The dog is barking. (कुत्ता भोंक रहा है।)
10. You are telling a lie. (तुम झूठ बोल रही हो।)

वर्तमान निरंतर काल के सांकेतिक शब्द (Present Continuous Or Progressive Tense Signal Words)

सांकेतिक शब्दों के प्रयोग से काल के प्रकार का पता लगाया जा सकता है | At the moment, now, look, listen, presently, this week, this month और for the time being जैसे शब्द Present Continuous Or Progressive Tense के Signal Words हैं | 

क्रियाएँ जो आमतौर पर वर्तमान प्रगतिशील काल में उपयोग नहीं होती (Verbs That Generally Not use In Present Or Progressive Tense)

कुछ क्रियाएँ जो कभी-कभी प्रगतिशील क्रिया को स्वीकार नहीं करती हैं। ऐसी क्रियाओं को गैर-प्रगतिशील क्रिया कहा जाता है |

1. Verb of Perception or Describing Senses: hear, smell, taste, see, prefer, please etc.
2. Verb in General: affect, resemble, appear, cost, require, seem, look, become etc.
3. Verbs Stating Possession: belong, have, own etc.
4. Verbs Expressing Feelings: love, hate, like, want, wish, desire, respect, adore etc.
5. Verbs Expressing State of Mind: think, know, mind, understand, suppose, mean etc.

सकरात्मक वाक्य (Affirmative Sentence)

सकरात्मक वाक्यों को Affirmative Sentence कहा जाता है | Present Continuous Tense में Affirmative Sentence का अर्थ किसी कार्य के निरंतर चलते रहने से है | 

Present Continuous Tense के Affirmative Sentence में Subject के साथ  is/ am/ are लगाकर verb की I form के साथ ing का Use करते हैं | 

Subject + is/ am/ are + verb I form + ing + object.

1. रमन गाय को घास चरा रहा है | 
    Raman is grazing grass to the cow.

2. वे अंग्रेज़ी पढ़ रहे हैं | 

    They are studying English.

3. बाहर बहुत धूप हो रही है |
    It is getting very sunny outside.
 
4. बच्चा दूध पीने के लिए रो रहा है | 
    Baby is crying for milk. 

5. हम कुछ दिनों के लिए दिल्ली जा रहे हैं | 
    We are going to Delhi for a few days.

6. वह फुटबॉल खेल रहा है |
    He is playing football.
 
7. ये सेब गर्मी से खराब हो रहे हैं |
    These apples are getting spoiled by the heat.  

8. जिया खाना खा रही है | 
    Jiya is eating food.

9. स्टूडेंट्स लाइब्रेरी में किताबें पढ़ रहे हैं |
    Students are reading books in the library.

10. आज वह अपनी नानी के घर जा रही है | 
      Today she is going to her grandmother's house.

11. नींव और दीप मैदान में खेल रहे हैं | 
      Neev and Deep are playing in the field.

12. उस घर के बाहर बहुत सारे दीपक जगमगा रहे हैं |

      Many lamps are lightening outside that house.

13. जैक कंप्यूटर पर ऑफिस का काम कर रहा है 

      Jack is doing office work on the computer.

14. मेरी बहन हमारे लिए स्वादिष्ट खाना बना रही है।

      My sister is cooking delicious food for us. 

15. एलपीजी की कीमत इन दिनों तेजी से बढ़ रही है।

      The price of LPG is increasing rapidly now a days.

नकरात्मक वाक्य (Negative Sentence)

Negative Sentence बनाने के लिए हम Verb To Be (is, am, are) के बाद Not लगाते हैं | ऐसे वाक्य नकरात्मक वाक्य कहलाए जाते हैं | 

Subject + is/am/are + not + verb I form + ing + object.

उदाहरण (Example)

1. मजदूर घर बनाने में पूरी लगन से कार्य नहीं कर रहे हैं | 

    The laborers are not working diligently in building the house.

2. आज मौसम कुछ ठीक नहीं लग रहा है | 

     The weather is not looking good today.

3. मैं इस समय कहीं नहीं जा रही हूँ | 

    I am not going anywhere at the moment.

4. मेरी दादी जी का स्वस्थ आजकल ठीक नहीं चल रहा है | 

    My grandmother's health is not doing well these days.

5. वे कोई नया होटल नहीं खोल रहे हैं | 

    They are not opening any new hotel.

6. मुंबई में हमारे नए घर का निर्माण हो रहा है | 

    Our new house is building in Mumbai.

7. रमन इन दिनों किसी बड़े प्रोजेक्ट पर काम कर रहा है | 

    Raman is working on a big project these days.

8. सिमरन का कोई भी काम आजकल सफल नहीं हो रहा है | 

    No work of Simran is getting successful nowadays.

9. वो आम बहुत तेजी से खट्टे नहीं हो रहे हैं | 

    Those mangoes are not turning sour very fast.

10. बाहर तेज बारिश नहीं हो रही है |

      It is not raining heavily outside.

11. दिया और रिया एक साथ किताब नहीं पढ़ रहे हैं | 

      Diya and Riya are not reading a book together.

12. वह आज योग का अभ्यास नहीं कर रही है।

      She is not practicing yoga today.

13. जैक मुझे सच नहीं बता रहा है।

      Jack is not telling the truth to me.

14. मैं अभी कुछ नहीं कर रहा हूँ।

      I am not doing anything right now. 

15. वक्त बहुत तेजी से भाग रहा है | 

      Time is running very fast.

प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य (Interrogative Sentence)

Interrogative Sentence को प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य भी कहा जाता है | Present Continuous Tense के Interrogative Sentence में Verb to be (is/am/are) को Subject के आगे लगाकर प्रश्न पूछा जाता है |

Is/am/are + subject + verb I form + ing + object.

उदाहरण (Example)

1. क्या तुम कहीं जा रहे हो ?

    Are you going somewhere ?

2. क्या यह उसकी कलम है ?

    Is this his pen ?

3. क्या बच्चे पार्क में खेल रहे हैं ?

    Are the children playing in the park ?

4. क्या मैं आज अच्छी दिख रही हूँ ?

    Am I looking well today ?

5. क्या हम सभी आज मूवी जा रहे हैं ?

    Are we all going to the movie today ?

6. क्या यह फोन सही से काम नहीं कर रहा है ?

    Is this phone not working properly ?

7. क्या पिताजी आज शहर से बाहर जा रहे हैं ?

    Is dad going out of town today ?

8. क्या बाहर बारिश हो रही है ?

    Is it raining outside ?

9. क्या वे लोग वृन्दावन जा रहे हैं ?

    Are they going to Vrindavan ?

10. क्या आजकल रीति रिवाज का महत्व खत्म होता जा रहा है ?

      Is the importance of customs disappearing nowadays ?

11. क्या वह डॉक्टर को सही से जवाब दे रही है ? 

      Is she responding to the doctor properly ?

12. क्या मैं आपका काम सही से कर रही हूँ ?

      Am I doing your job properly ?  

13. क्या यह सड़क उज्जैन को जा रही है ?

      Is this road going towards Ujjain ?  

14. क्या वह तुम्हारी भाभी बनने जा रही है ?

      Is she going to be your sister-in-law ?

15. क्या तुम उसकी सहायता कर रहे हो ?

      Are you helping him ?

Negative-Interrogative Sentence

1. क्या वह मेरा काम नहीं कर रहा है ? 

    Isn't he doing my work ?

2. क्या सैम कंप्यूटर पर काम नहीं कर रहा है ?

    Is Sam not working on the computer ?

3. क्या हम एक साथ सैर पर नहीं जा रहे हैं ?

    Are we not going for a walk together ?

4. क्या तुम दिल्ली जाने के लिए नहीं निकल रहे हो ?

    Are you not leaving for Delhi ?

5. क्या आप मेरे साथ लंच नहीं कर रहे हैं ? 

    Aren't you having lunch with me ?

6. क्या वह भगवान की पूजा नहीं कर रही है ?

    Is she not worshiping God ?

7. क्या आज मैं अच्छी नहीं दिख रही हूँ ?

    Am I not looking good today ?

8. क्या उस इमारत पर निर्माण कार्य नहीं चल रहा है ?

    Is there no construction work going on on that building ?

9. क्या वह वीडियो गेम नहीं खेल रहा है ?

    Is he not playing video games ?

10. क्या बाहर भारी बारिश नहीं हो रही है ?

      Is it not raining heavily outside ?

11. क्या दिया अपना काम सही से नहीं कर रही है ? 

      Is Diya not doing her work properly ?

12. क्या वे इस समय नहीं खेल रहे हैं ?

      Are they not playing at the moment ?

13. क्या सड़क पर बस नहीं चल रही है ?

      Is the bus not plying on the road ?

14. क्या इस दिवाली पर तुम नए कपड़े नहीं खरीद रहे हो ?

      Are you not buying new clothes this Diwali ?

15. क्या आप मुझसे बात नहीं कर रहे हैं ?

      Are you not talking to me ?

9. मैं क्यों तुम्हारे साथ जा रही हूँ ?

    Why am I going with you ?

10. वह इस समय क्या कर रही है ?

      What is she doing at the moment ?

11. हम बाजार से क्या खरीद रहे हैं ?

      What are we buying from the market ?

12. मानव और मनन कहाँ जा रहे हैं ?

      Where are Manav and Manan going ?

13. कौन पौधों को पानी दे रहा है ?

      Who is watering the plants ?

14. वह अपना घर कैसे रंगवा रहा है ?

      How is he getting his house painted ?

15. हम उनकी बात क्यों नहीं सुन रहे है ?

      Why are we not listening to them ?

Use of Present Continuous Or Progressive Tense

 Present Continuous Or Progressive Tense का प्रयोग निम्नलिखित स्थितियों में किया जाता है -

ऐसी स्थिति के बारे में बात करना जो अभी पूरी नहीं हुई है पर बोलने के समय हो रही है |
Talking about a situation that is not yet completed but is happening at the time of speaking.

1. सिया बाजार जा रही है | 

    Siya is going to market.

2. जय सो रहा है | 

    Jai is sleeping. 

ऐसी स्थिति के बारे में बात करना जो अल्पकालिक है | 

Talking about a situation that is temporary.

1. मैं कल एक महीने के लिए लंदन जा रहा हूं।

    I am going to London tomorrow for a month.

2. वह एक हफ्ते के लिए ही मैथ्स की कोचिंग क्लास ले रही है।

    She is taking Math coaching class for a week only.

ऐसी स्थिति के बारे में बात करना जहाँ स्थिति बदल रही हो | 

Talking about a situation where the situation is changing.

1. इस कमरे का तापमान ठंडा हो रहा है।

    This room temperature is getting cooler.

2. मौसम गर्म हो रहा है | 

    The weather is getting hot. 

भविष्य की योजनाओं के बारे में बात करने के लिए | 

To talk about future plans. 

1. मैं कल अपने दोस्तों के साथ पिकनिक पर जा रहा हूँ।

    I am going to picnic with my friends tomorrow.

2.  इस महीने पिताजी मुझे गाड़ी दिला रहे हैं | 

    This month dad is getting me the car.
